Elisabete Yoon Ju Seonwoo, aka Kerberus (they/she), is an alumnus of Bachelor in Fine Art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her focus on exploring the artistic language of liberation in art & technology and mixed new media dance performances navigate her emotions and experience living as a woman of color in a digital space. By archiving her body movements with a 3D motion capture suit and virtual reality, she creates the mind palace that allows her to be an authentic self, ultimately breaking frames that box [her]. Also, the artist is one of the founder members of the Chicago Krump dance collective, Chibuck. She holds Krump as a creative language to inspire and empower others in the Chicago dance and art community to spread positive impacts along with the collective.

Internships and Job Experiences

  • Motion Capture Workshop at Jacolby Satterwhite: Spirits Roaming on the Earth Show/ SAIC Galleries (2023)

    An introductory motion capture workshop was conducted at the Jacolby Satterwhite: Spirits Roaming on the Earth Show. Assisted attendees in understanding Jacolby's practice of illustrating and creating their world in virtual and real spaces, particularly using a motion capture feature in 3D animation by using the Rokoko motion capture program. It was organized by SAIC faculty member Anneli Goeller and artist Elisaebte Yoon Ju Seonwoo aka Kerberus (BFA 2023), and WooYeon Kim (BFA 2022).

  • Deeply Rooted Dance Theater Company/ Internship/ Dance Education, Dance Production Assistant (2022)

    Assisted in the company’s dance education department by creating formal documents for the programs and classes. Also, assist the dance production department with video and photo documentation of the programs.

    Assisted in promoting a virtual exhibition from NYU Tisch students by using 3D animation software and social media platforms.

    ExTV is a student-run organization showcasing video, film, and other time-based artwork from the SAIC community, including students, faculty, and staff. As a production manager, I composed and curated showcasing students’ film works via website, social media, and various media formats of events, including analog film, VR, and 3D animation.
