My passion, heart, and soul in Rhythm study express my abstract idea, such as feelings & emotions, that it is not something you see in everyday life.
“It goes beyond the human experience and talking & interacting with others.”
Kerberus (Elisabete Yoon Ju Seonwoo) explores identity within the context of globalization, drawing from personal experiences of migration and a multicultural upbringing. With a family history shaped by refugee and migration experiences, she was raised at the intersection of multiple cultures, navigating questions of identity from an early age. These influences shape her work, which examines the fluid and evolving nature of cultural identity while challenging societal beauty standards and rigid definitions of femininity. As a non-binary artist, Kerberus embarks on a deeply personal journey toward authentic selfhood, translating this exploration into a dynamic artistic practice.
The artist’s work spans dance, action photography, videography, virtual reality, 3D animation, and mixed media—seamlessly shifting between physical and digital spaces. Through multilayered digital experiences, she interrogates the complexities of cultural identity, inviting audiences into immersive environments where physical sensations merge with virtual landscapes. This interplay engages viewers in her abolitionist artistic world, where the boundaries between reality and perception continuously shift.
Kerberus’s visual language—encompassing motion graphics, 3D animation, virtual and augmented reality, creative video games, and mixed-media dance performances—creates a bridge between artist and audience. Her work fosters moments of deep connection, where the viewer and the artist’s world become intertwined.
Currently, she is expanding her practice beyond self-reflection and expression to focus on social engagement and community-driven initiatives around identity. By integrating bodily movement data into her work, she expresses cultural hybridity and diversity, offering immersive experiences that transcend the physical and virtual divide. By integrating art, technology, and audience interaction, Kerberus seeks to forge transformative new forms of artistic experience.
