O Além

"O além" is a short 3D motion graphic film in which the artist reclaims her identity as a queer and lifetime experience of growing up in a multicultural environment. Featuring deities-animal figured masks/faces as presentation and alignment to ancestors, the artist projects and protects the sacredness of the communities she is engaged in and portrays how she navigates in the outer world, the society that is sort of scripted by the system. The film illustrates what may challenge what society expects from the artist. Through the artist’s visual language, such as 3D  animations and motion graphics, and traced dance performance by motion capture programs as an archive and connections the artist’s multi-cultural family histories and her ancestors.
